Why I Did a Pilates Mentorship And why I created one of my own

There’s a point in every teacher’s journey where you feel like something’s missing. You’ve got the certification, the clients, and the schedule, but there’s this quiet itch—like you're going through the motions, following the manual, but not really seeing the bigger picture.

That’s exactly where I was when I started looking for a Pilates mentorship.

I didn’t need more exercises. I needed more clarity.

I knew the moves. I could teach a decent class. But I wanted to understand why we teach what we teach—and how to adapt it to real people, in real bodies, without overexplaining or losing the essence of the work.

I wanted to teach less like a script, and more like a conversation.

That’s what mentorship gave me. It wasn’t about learning flashy new tricks. It was about coming back to the work—really seeing the work—and trusting myself enough to teach it with more confidence, more presence, and way more joy.

Working with Lesley Logan changed everything

Lesley Logan was my mentor, and her guidance flipped a switch in my brain. She didn’t just teach me more repertoire—she taught me how to think, observe, and trust what I saw.

She helped me connect the dots in a way that made my own practice deeper and more consistent, and my teaching cleaner, clearer, and more confident. It’s not that she gave me all the answers—it’s that she gave me the tools to find them for myself.

And that’s what I want to pass on.

Here’s what changed for me through mentorship:

  • I started teaching the body in front of me, not the manual.

  • I stopped over-talking and started coaching through movement.

  • I reconnected with my own practice in a way that made me fall in love with Pilates all over again.

  • I found a small group of teachers who truly got it—we challenged each other, lifted each other, and held space for honest learning.

Mentorship isn’t always comfortable. It asks you to slow down, look at your blind spots, and be a student again. But it’s also incredibly freeing. You get to explore, question, and play. You get to fill in the gaps no one tells you about in training.

That’s why I created Legacy.

If you’re feeling stuck—or just quietly craving more depth—this is for you.
Let me teach you what Lesley taught me.

Interested in joining the next round of Legacy? Applications are open now. We start in October 2025, and spots are limited to just four teachers.
